President Obama and Janet Napolitano talk about securing the border but nothing happens. When they say that they can’t secure the border without a comprehensive immigration amnesty bill, they are lying. But now the situation on the border has gotten so bad that they have decided to do something; not much, more like the illusion of action.
In a speech to the American University School of International Service, July 1, 2010, Obama said:
“Government has a threshold responsibility to secure our borders. That’s why I directed my Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano — a former border governor — to improve our enforcement policy without having to wait for a new law.”
My response to Obama:
In case you missed it, that’s what the American people have been demanding under the Bush administration for 8 years and for 19 months under you. So you can understand why I don’t believe you are sincere.
For your information, you don’t need a new law to carry out your duty as president. Just to refresh your memory about the oath you took:
“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this union a Republican form of government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and, on application of the Legislature, or the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic violence. Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution.
That means you have the authority to utilize armed forces and equipment to secure our border with Mexico, to really have operational control of that border. That means armed National Guard troops to help carry out that mission.
And we have plenty of domestic violence, caused by foreign invaders.
Obama: “Today, we have more boots on the ground NEAR the Southwest border than at any time in our history. Let me repeat that: We have more boots on the ground on (NEAR?) the Southwest border than at any time in our history. We doubled the personnel assigned to Border Enforcement Security Task Forces. We tripled the number of intelligence analysts along the border.”
My response: How many of those boots are on the border, armed and tasked with identifying and capturing illegal aliens? How many are in support duties?
Obama: “So the bottom line is this: The southern border is more secure today than at any time in the past 20 years…Even as we are committed to doing what’s necessary to secure our borders, even without passage of the new law, there are those who argue that we should not move forward with any other elements of reform until we have fully sealed our borders. But our borders are just too vast for us to be able to solve the problem only with fences and border patrols. It won’t work. Our borders will not be secure as long as our “LIMITED RESOURCES” are devoted to not only stopping gangs and potential terrorists, but also the hundreds of thousands who attempt to cross each year simply to find work.”
My response: You say the border is more secure today than at any time in the past 20 years. Then why did more signs get posted recently on federal property stating that Americans should not travel there because of the danger presented by armed drug traffickers and illegal aliens. And one area on the Mexican border is closed to American citizens because of the threat of violence from foreign invaders. Does that sound like we have a secure border?
If you can’t secure the border because of “limited resources,” then you need to resign right now and let someone else do the job. We have the resources. If not, bring our troops back from overseas and our pointless wars that are killing our finest warriors and draining our treasury. That’s a lame excuse. We’ve got plenty of qualified Americans who will gladly volunteer to do the job. That is, if you honestly wanted to make that happen.
If the border is more secure today, why did U.S. officials recently put up signs around the Sonoran Desert National Monument (park) that warned:
DANGER- PUBLIC WARNING TRAVEL NOT RECOMMENDED
It advised “that travel in the area is not recommended due to ‘active drug and human’ smuggling.” A Pinal County deputy was shot not far from this sign ” during a confrontation with marijuana smugglers in April…”
“Roughly 3,500 acres of the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge — about 3 percent of the 118,000-acre park — have been closed since Oct. 6, 2006, when U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service officials acknowledged a marked increase in violence along a patch of land that extends north from the border for roughly three-quarters of a mile. Federal officials say they they have no plans to reopen the area.
As for your secure border, here is more evidence of how long lines of Mexican illegals continue to cross into the United States with no trouble and in broad daylight. The time line goes all the way through June 2010. Taken with hidden cameras set up by American patriots, the invaders get rides deep into our nation. The photo is of a truck loaded with illegals 80 miles deep into the American desert. Go here, scroll down and click on 6/27/10 to see lines of illegals making their way into the U.S. in broad daylight.
Here is a recent headline from the front lines: Pinal County Sheriff Receiving Death Threats from Mexican Mafia. The bad guys probably haven’t heard that you’ve secured the border.
As for the National Guard, they will not be involved with actually stopping illegals.
Obama: That’s why businesses must be held accountable if they break the law by deliberately hiring and exploiting undocumented workers. We’ve already begun to step up enforcement against the worst workplace offenders. And we’re implementing and improving a system to give employers a reliable way to verify that their employees are here legally.
My response: The American people have been demanding for ten years that businesses be held accountable. You should have stepped up upon taking office. You already have a system for verifying if an employee is legal. It’s called E-verify.
But Chuck Schumer and Lindsey Graham want an RFID Social Security card for everyone in the United States, plus a continuing current record of every person who is alive or dead. It’s called a national ID card and its final form has yet to be decided.
This national ID card has been the plan for George W. Bush and now for Barack Obama. The card will be part of a new world, a world that American citizens have not been consulted on.

President Calderon of Mexico says his country will have a national ID card distributed by 2012. And Canada will also have one. The info will be on integrated databases for speeding up the flow of commerce and people throughout North America.
Once again, these comprehensive immigration bills are for legalizing every illegal in America plus offer a number of work visas that will add millions to our population. And you can bet that at the mention of the word amnesty, the masses from south of the border will come pouring across into the land of generous benefits. Try to stop the horde once that legislation passes without real border control.
The security portion of any amnesty bill also calls for improvements to border crossing infrastructure in order to speed up the flow of traffic throughout the continent. According to Obama, he is making those improvements and building new border crossings. Does that sound like he wants to secure the border? This new system won’t keep anyone out. But then, keeping foreigners out is not in Obama’s future plan for North America.
